 | DAY002: 22 - Extended Sensory Play
22 is something different. Something different than just a number. Something different than an adress, a temperature, a price or a parking space number. Something different than a a sum in a arithmetical problem or the telephone prefix for Mauritania. 22 is also a band. But something completely different. Something completely different than a normal band! If you`re tired of all the retro shit everywhere – then you should come to a 22 concert and experience the new and fresh sound of tomorrow!
22 had their debut concert 2.2.2008, and they played by:Larm 22.2. at 22:22. This autumn they will do a Norwegian tour with a route that forms a giant number 2 on the map, and they each appear on the stage in their own brightly coloured batik suit. No, it`s not a cry for help. It`s not a silly band gimmick. They do it because they can, and because music is about more than just a set of songs. Did someone say conceptually? Yes, they are consistent to the bone, but it never gets boring or monotonous. We talk about progressive pop music with funk spasms that are more frisky than Triana`s butt. We talk about music that
has been composed somewhere between awakeness and the universe of dreams. Imagine Alice in Wonderland, with Mars Volta, Meshuggah og Jeff Buckley around the coffee table, while their cups are filled with fresh mint tea.
22 is against all common sense, and after all we should be really happy about that!. That`s why we`re talking about a band that surprises and provokes, and at the same time boils with energy og joy to play. And no, the boys in 22 is not a bunch of pretensious batik dolls. It`s just the way they are.
